A PLACE TO CALL HOME

Phi Kappa Tau is a diverse, genuine group of men who gave me all the opportunity to succeed both academically and through leadership.

Andrew Mehta ’16, past President

Joining Phi Kappa Tau is one of the best decisions I have ever made. It gave me a group of guys who would always be there for you, which was invaluable in the transition between high school and college. Being involved in a brotherhood like Phi Kappa Tau also pushes you to be your best and get outside of your comfort zone, which I have done throughout my college career.

Kevin Liao ’19, Treasurer

What Phi Kappa Tau has done for my college experience cannot be replaced and will not be found anywhere else. Phi Kappa Tau took the shy kid from Florida and brought out the best version of him. That version would later go on to become the Head Houseboy for the Kappa Delta sorority, a member of Maroon VIP, the Student Veteran’s Association, and land a job as a student recruiter for the football program. In the chapter, I served in various leadership positions. No other fraternity would’ve given me the support I needed to get heavily involved on campus, and heavily involved in my chapter. Phi Kappa Tau is the best decision I have made in my life to this point, and may even be one of the top 5 decision I make in my life. What it did for me is exactly what it will do for every member who joins the Alpha Chi Chapter at Mississippi State University.

Owen McGuire ’16

I joined Phi Kappa Tau in 2017, not for the fraternity experience but the brotherhood. I came from out of state not knowing a single person, but as soon as I walked into Phi Tau I made friends instantly. Three years later, and the guy who knew no one is the president of his fraternity. I know at any point and time I could call any Phi Tau from my chapter to any Phi Tau nationally and they would help me. I’m not just honored, but humbled by the bond we share.

FRATERNAL VALUES

The Mission

The mission of Phi Kappa Tau is to champion a lifelong commitment to brotherhood, learning, ethical leadership and exemplary character.

Creed

Phi Kappa Tau, by admitting me to membership, has conferred upon me a mark of distinction in which I take just pride. I believe in the spirit of brotherhood for which it stands. I shall strive to attain its ideals, and by so doing to bring to it honor and credit. I shall be loyal to my college and my chapter and shall keep strong my ties to them that I may ever retain the spirit of youth. I shall be a good and loyal citizen. I shall try always to discharge the obligation to others which arises from the fact that I am a fraternity man. – Roland Maxwell, Southern California 1922, November 19, 1950
